The places rugs shouldn’t be

Rugs bring comfort and decoration to a room. However, there are places that have increased traffic or exposure to elements and food. These areas don’t get normal exposure to dirt and can receive other stains such as harsh chemical such as oil or similar solutions.

Rugs placed in an outdoor environment don’t have a long lifespan. In an outdoor shed or patio rugs placed here will be exposed to harsh weather elements. In addition, these rugs can be forgetting when indoors rugs get cleaned.

Kitchens receive a lot of food stains and other organic material on a daily basis. They are also a high foot traffic area especially in restaurant settings. Pests may be attracted to the food stains and could eat the rug fabric as well.

Bathrooms should only hold small synthetic floor mats in a home setting. Otherwise they shouldn’t be placed at all in public areas. The rugs will soak in bodily wastes and dirt from high traffic. With bacteria involvement the rugs will start to smell bad as well.

Garages are poor areas to place rugs.  The flooring in this place will accumulate heavy car oil. This isn’t readily removed and it can give a rug a bad smell as well. In addition, rugs can be exposed to harsh weather elements.

Steam cleaning the best option for removing particular stains. This is handy when the rug has just been cleaned. Over washing can ruin the integrity of your rug and should be washed annually. Thick pile rugs should be sent out to be cleaned professionally. Professional steam cleaning can handle all other rugs and provide a deep cleaning for your rugs.
